The Southport Springs Free Guest House Program has been very popular and effective for those who are seriously considering investing in a Florida retirement community. For many, buying a home in Florida may be one of the last major investments made. The importance of a wise decision cannot be overlooked or taken lightly.
Following are some of the questions most often asked about our Guest House Program.
Who is eligible for the Guest House Program?
I'm not retired yet. Am I eligible?
We're just beginning to look. We don't know what we want. How can the program benefit us?
Will we be subjected to high-pressure salespeople?
We want to sell our home. What can we do in that situation?
I understand a $50 deposit is required. Is this correct?
Who is eligible for the Guest House Program?
Anyone who is considering purchasing a home within the next 12 months.
I'm not retired yet. Am I eligible?
Most definitely. Prices continue to rise, but soon to be retirees save precious money by purchasing now and using their home as an income producing property until they are ready to move to Florida. This smart approach also has some attractive tax advantages which can save the owner additional dollars until retirement.
We're just beginning to look. We don't know what we want. How can the program benefit us ?
This is one of the primary reasons why the program was designed. Chances are you wouldn't purchase a dress or a suit of clothes without trying them on, would you? The same applies to purchasing a home in a retirement community. It's important that the community you choose "fits" your needs and provides the "look" you desire. Being a guest in the community for 3 days and 2 nights gives you the opportunity to get a "feel" for the community, for the people, and for the various activities that make up the community lifestyle.
Will we be subjected to high-pressure salespeople?
Absolutely not! Most people don't want to be "sold" anything, refuse to purchase anything they don't want, and resent arm-twisting tactics. Our appraoch is highly professional and educational, with an abundance of time for fun, fellowship and relaxation.
We want to sell our home. What can we do in that situation?
No problem. With our rental management, leaseback and layaway programs, most people find that this gives them ample time to sell their home.
I understand a $50 deposit is required. Is this correct?
Yes it is. This is a fully refundable reservation deposit. You will receive your deposit back prior to your departure.
Our plans are not definite. We don't know when we will be able to visit. Should I wait until a firm date is known to send in my reservation?
Not necessarily. It's to your advantage to get your reservation in now and firm up the date later. There are a limited number of guest houses available. During the busy winter season many would-be guests act too late and have to find alternate lodging. Your postmarked reservation gives you priority status even with open dates.
If plans change, can I cancel?
Yes, you may either cancel or reschedule your date. If you must cancel, your deposit will be cheerfully refunded.
Why do you make this Guest House Program available?
Simply put, our goal is to sell homes. Our desire is to provide for you, the retiree, an active, friendly, economical, secure, worry-free community where you will enjoy life at its finest. If we meet our goal and you achieve your desire, it's good for you and it's good for us.
